Check out this article from @marijuanamoment. “The U.S. House of Representatives on Friday approved a massive infrastructure bill that includes provisions aimed at allowing researchers to study the actual marijuana that consumers are purchasing from state-legal dispensaries instead of having to use only government-grown cannabis.” “The legislation also encourages states that have enacted legalization laws to educate people about impaired driving. With this latest House action to concur with changes made by the Senate, the bill now heads to President Joe Biden’s desk.” “The move comes as Democratic lawmakers in Congress work to advance several pieces of marijuana legislation, including a federal legalization bill that cleared the House Judiciary Committee in September. A new Republican-led plan to end federal cannabis prohibition is also soon to be introduced in the House. Separately, the full chamber approved a defense spending bill in September that includes protections for banks that work with state-legal cannabis businesses.” Click the #readmore link in bio to read the full article at Marijuanamoment.net ====================================

Check out this article from @thedailybeast. “As an emerging industry with sky-high revenue projections, lofty social-justice promises, and ground rules currently being written from scratch, no business in America prompts ready comparisons to Silicon Valley like legal cannabis.” “But though analysts project legal weed sales to balloon from $17.5 billion last year to $70 billion by 2028—exponential growth fueled by the beginning of adult-use sales in East Coast states like New York and the potential of a legal national market, as the U.S. Senate for the first time seriously debates federal legalization—cannabis businesses in legacy West Coast states like California and Oregon are struggling. Among other problems, they’re being squeezed by high taxes, low margins, and oversupply as companies large and small rush to enter the fray.” Click the #readmore link in bio to read the full article at thedailybeast.com ====================================

Check out this article from @leafly. “America’s first national-level agricultural report on cannabis finds that legal cannabis supports more than 13,042 American farms and is now worth more than cotton.” “(November 3, 2021) – SEATTLE, WA: Leafly Holdings, Inc. (“Leafly”), one of the world’s leading cannabis discovery marketplaces and resources, today released its inaugural Cannabis Harvest Report—the first look at cannabis crop data, insights, and projections across the 11 states where Americans can currently purchase both adult-use and medical cannabis. “ “In partnership with Whitney Economics, Leafly’s investigative team gathered and analyzed crop data from the 11 states with operating legal adult-use and medical cannabis markets and found that cannabis has become a major agricultural commodity that supports thousands of American farmers and farm communities. Leafly found that cannabis crops in adult-use states now support 13,042 licensed farms in the aggregate. On an annual basis, those growers harvest 2,278 metric tons (5,022,990 pounds) of cannabis. That’s enough cannabis to roll more than 2 billion joints, or fill 57 Olympic-size swimming pools.” Click the #readmore link in bio to read the full article at leafly.com. ====================================
